Defense forces shot down 83 Russian drones, while 59 more were lost from radar

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that defense forces shot down 83 Russian Shahed drones and other UAVs, while 59 were lost from radar without consequences.

According to the statement, starting at 9:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, Russia launched 147 attack drones, including Shaheds and various decoy UAVs, from multiple directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aerial assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Air Force and Defense Forces.

As of 9:00 AM on Monday, February 17, 83 drones were confirmed shot down over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesіa regions.

Fifty-nine Russian decoy drones were lost from radar, with no negative consequences.

The attack caused damage in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
