The Russian army is trying to stabilize the front line in the Pokrovsk direction and reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region.
This was reported by spokesperson of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group Nazar Voloshyn during a TV broadcast.
Commenting on the situation in the Pokrovsk direction, Voloshyn noted that the Russian forces are attempting to stabilize the front line and reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region. However, the situation in Pokrovsk is fully under the control of the Defense Forces.
"There are no enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups in Pokrovsk, and no battles are taking place on the outskirts of the city," Voloshyn clarified.
He also emphasized that while the Russian forces are losing their artillery advantage, they are compensating for this by using aviation and dropping aerial bombs.
"At the beginning of the war, the artillery shell ratio was about 5 to 1 in favor of Russia. Now, the advantage in artillery shells and artillery use is on our side, at 1.5 to 1, and in some directions, even 1 to 3," Voloshyn stated.
He explained the difference in tactics between Ukrainian and Russian artillery units.
"The enemy uses artillery over larger areas and squares, while our artillerymen send each shell directly to its target," Voloshyn added.
