Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during a meeting in Kyiv with Speaker of the Danish Parliament Søren Gade, discussed financial contributions to Ukraine’s defence industry, including air defence, as well as opportunities that could be implemented under the SAFE programme.
“Financial contributions to Ukrainian defence production and direct defence assistance, particularly air defence systems to protect against jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles, are important. There are also opportunities within the European SAFE programme that we can implement together with Denmark to strengthen our shared security. We discussed all of this today,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.
He thanked the Speaker of the Danish Parliament for expressing condolences over the deaths caused by Russian strikes.
“This is unquestionably an escalation, and right now it is particularly important that the focus on supporting Ukraine does not weaken. Thank you for your readiness to help in all these areas,” Zelensky added.
