The Danish government has announced a new aid package amounting to approximately 783 million Danish kroner ($116 million) to support Ukraine's military needs. This package is aimed at addressing both short-term and long-term defense requirements of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Danish government press service.

The main funds will be allocated for the procurement of new military equipment through Ukrainian defense industries and international partners.

"Putin continues his brutal and bloody attacks on Ukrainians. It is very important for Denmark to continue supporting Ukraine so that it can defend itself," stated Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

He emphasized that this twentieth military support package has been developed with Ukraine's wishes and needs in mind and will be beneficial both in the immediate future and in the long term.

An important part of the new aid package will be the increase of the industrial pool by 300 million kroner in 2024, which will help strengthen Ukraine's defense industry. Additionally, 112 million kroner will be allocated for funding procurements through Ukrainian defense enterprises.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen noted that Copenhagen remains one of Ukraine’s most dedicated supporters and has set an international standard for supporting the country.

He emphasized that the new aid package will provide Ukraine with the necessary military equipment to counter Russia’s aggression.

With the Ukraine Fund, a total of 64.8 billion Danish kroner (2024-pl) has been allocated for military support to Ukraine for the years 2023-2028. With donation package XX, a decision has currently been made to provide military support to Ukraine through the Ukraine Fund amounting to 46.1 billion Danish kroner for the period 2023-2028.
