Denmark has completed the training of the first group of 50 Ukrainian specialists to service F-16 fighters. Commander of the Royal Danish Air Force, Major General Jan Dam, announced this in an interview with TV2.

According to Dam, the majority of these specialists have already returned to Ukraine and are awaiting the arrival of the first fighters at the airbases. He also mentioned that the next group of 50 Ukrainians will soon begin their training.

Dam further noted that preparations are underway for the first group of Ukrainian pilots, who are currently training for night flights. Overall, the pilot training programme is expected to last six to eight months.

To facilitate the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine, a special aviation coalition led by the Netherlands and Denmark has been established. The selection of these countries was deliberate, as both have aviation simulators.

According to Danish Defense Minister Trine Bramsen, Denmark plans to conclude the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s next year, as it transitions to more advanced F-35 aircraft.
