Denmark will soon approve a military aid package for Ukraine worth almost one billion euros.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that the package will include tanks, ammunition, drones, and other equipment. The announcement was made at a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky and the heads of state of Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden.
The package is estimated to be around one billion euros, approximately 7.5 billion Danish kroner, and will include ammunition, tanks, and drones.
'We are at a critical stage of the war, and we must ensure that Ukraine has everything it needs to continue the fight. That is why we are working with partners and allies for the long-term security of Ukraine,' said Mette Frederiksen.
President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Denmark for its participation in the restoration of Mykolaiv region and the new aid package.
He also held bilateral talks with Mette Frederiksen.
'First and foremost, we discussed the content of the package that we (ed. – the government of Denmark) will present tomorrow. There is an urgent need for ammunition and some other things on the battlefield in Ukraine right now, as winter begins to show its ugly face,' said Frederiksen.
In November, it was announced that Denmark would increase its military aid to Ukraine by 3 billion euros by 2027.
The total amount of the military aid fund to Ukraine in 2023 will increase by 2.3 billion Danish kroner, by 10.5 billion in 2025, 7.4 billion in 2026, and 5.6 billion in 2027.
