Denmark will allocate approximately 4.2 billion Danish kroner (about 629 million dollars) to Ukraine. The funds will be directed toward the procurement of domestically produced weapons.
This was reported by Denmark's Minister of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen.
"It is important that we continue to support Ukraine's fight for freedom in every possible way. Therefore, I am very pleased that Denmark has agreed with Ukraine on the general framework of how we can best utilize the 4.2 billion Danish kroner provided by the EU and Denmark," Poulsen stated.
According to him, these funds will be financed by 1.3 billion Danish kroner allocated by the government and 2.9 billion Danish kroner from frozen Russian assets that Denmark will use on behalf of the EU.
"Denmark is a leader in providing weapons directly from the Ukrainian defense industry. This enhances the ability of Ukrainians to produce exactly the weapons they need," Poulsen explained.
He also reminded that Denmark recently completed a pilot project in which 18 artillery shells of Ukrainian production were financed. The shells have already been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
