More than 800 pieces of energy equipment have been damaged by Russian attacks since September.

This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal during a question-and-answer session with the government in the Verkhovna Rada.

"Since September, Russian forces have carried out more than 350 strikes, damaging over 800 pieces of various types of equipment at substations and power generation facilities," Shmyhal said.

He noted that second-level protective structures have now been built for 235 transformers. Over the past six months, only one instance of protected equipment being hit by a ballistic missile has been recorded.

The minister also stressed that, without these protective measures, restoring energy facilities under the current intensity of Russian attacks would take months.
