Ukrainian Drama Translations was created to promote Ukrainian modern plays around the world. In particular, to help foreign directors and producers to find quality translations of Ukrainian plays and useful contacts of rights holders for productions in different parts of the world.

The site is equipped with a manual search system that allows you to generate a query by translation language, genre, writing period, topic, text size or number of characters. Each text is accompanied by an English-language passport card with a concise synopsis and information about the author and translator.

You can read most of the text on the site. Instead, the full content for reading, commercial or non-commercial use can be obtained directly from the copyright holder, whose contacts are on the first pages of plays.

The library has an open structure and provides for constant updating of funds. We encourage Ukrainian playwrights to send translations of their plays at[email protected]

Prior to publishing on the Website, quality of translations will be verified by the Expert Board: Lydia Nagel (German), Elli Salo (Finnish, Swedish, Slovak), Molly Flynn (English), Miloslav Juráni (Slovak), Iulia Popovici (Romanian), Dominique Dolmieu (French) and Anna Korzeniowska-Bihun (Polish).

Organizers:

The library was founded by the Ukrainian Institute in partnership with the Worldwide Readings Project and the Birkbeck Center for Contemporary Theater, its foundation was formed from the funds of the global initiative Worldwide Readings Project and the program of the Ukrainian Institute Transmission.ua: drama on the move.

Work in progress”, implemented by NGO “Theatre na Zhukah”, Ukrdramahub platform is a coordinating partner.
