The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Russia's Tambov region overnight on 20 October. The strike caused a fire at an industrial facility in the Michurinsky district, regional governor Yevgeny Pervyshov reported. According to him, no casualties were reported.

The target was the Nikolskoye oil pumping and dispatch station on the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, according to Ukrainian monitoring channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+. They claim that a diesel storage tank is on fire.

Astra also reported that drones had struck the Nikolskoye pumping station in the Michurinsky district, citing its analysis of eyewitness footage. According to the outlet, a fire broke out at one of the facility's two production sites, located near the village of Novonikolskoye.

The station belongs to Transneft and has a pumping capacity of up to 300,000 tonnes of fuel per day. It also handles the reception, storage and distribution of crude oil and petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, aviation kerosene and fuel oil.

The facility includes a pipeline network, three tank farms, two pumping stations and three loading stations.
