DTEK is investing all available funds into restoring thermal power plants damaged by Russian shelling. Executive Director of DTEK, Dmytro Sakharuk, stated this in an interview with Suspilne.
Sakharuk mentioned that repair campaigns in the energy sector will continue in July and August. Planned repairs will involve nuclear power plant units, while thermal and hydroelectric power plants will be restored after being damaged.
"We have lost 90% of DTEK Energo's generating capacity. We are investing all the funds available to us – 4 billion UAH – to recover. Unfortunately, this is not enough," Sakharuk said.
He explained that the situation in the energy system remains extremely challenging at present.
Sakharuk added that in frontline regions, the electricity supply situation is worsening due to constant shelling, which leads to the destruction of power grids.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK's power plants have been shelled by the Russian forces over 180 times.
