Strikes were carried out using rockets from different sides.

According to the press service of the Southern Ukraine Defense Forces, the enemy launched two attempts to attack the Odessa region with rockets of different types.

The first attempt was made almost at midnight, using tactical aviation over the Black Sea. Two rockets, presumably Kh-35/Kh-59, were launched by the occupiers towards one of the ports in the Odessa region. The air defense forces performed excellently, destroying the rockets over the sea, military sources reported.

A few hours later, the second attack occurred. This time, from the Sea of Azov area, the enemy directed two Kalibr type missiles towards Odessa. Again, the air defense forces successfully handled the situation, destroying both missiles.

However, during a telethon broadcast, Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Southern Ukraine Defense Forces, mentioned that the presence of enemy missile carriers in the Azov Sea indicates their search for "new tactics and new directions." She added that this might be an attempt by the enemy to bypass air defense systems with their missiles.

When asked if this could be due to the risk posed by Ukrainian aquatic drones to Russian missile carriers in the Black Sea, Humeniuk noted that it is "definitely dangerous for them."

"They've realized this a long time ago. But most likely, in relation to the missile carrier, they were seeking a new tactic to exert pressure on Ukraine," the spokesperson said.
