Tehran and Moscow plan to sign a strategic partnership agreement. It contains 47 articles covering cooperation in fields such as technology, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, and more.

The agreement includes a clause that prohibits the parties from supporting aggression against the other signatory or assisting such aggression, as well as allowing the use of their territory as a base for such actions, reports thу Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

Provisions regarding defense and military cooperation foresee joint training exercises.

The parties commit to supporting each other in international forums and countering sanctions.

Importantly, the document does not include obligations to recognize territories temporarily occupied by Russia. However, it contains a clause on territorial integrity, which is significant for Iran due to its disputes with the UAE over islands in the Persian Gulf.

The signing of the strategic partnership agreement deepens bilateral ties between Russia and Iran and demonstrates their intent to jointly oppose Western countries.

At the same time, events in Syria, particularly Russia's betrayal of the Assad regime, have already planted a "mine" in relations between Tehran and Moscow.
