In the Spanish residential complex Cala Alta, where Russian pilot Maksym Kuzminov was killed, the body of former Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) official Ihor Hrushevskyi was found in the swimming pool.
This was reported by El Espanol.
The body was found face down in the water, showing no signs of life. Initially, neighbors tried to help the man, followed by medical personnel, but without success.
It was revealed that the deceased was 61-year-old Hrushevskyi, who previously worked in the Department for Combating Organized Crime at the Ukrainian MIA, and later in the National Police.
No signs of violence were found on the body, but blood was coming from one ear. El Espanol suggests that the cause of death could have been sudden cardiac arrest or a stroke.
"Some neighbors' suspicions that Ihor was a victim of murder by Russian agents are mainly linked to the coincidence that the incident occurred in the same place where, on February 13, 2024, Russian pilot Maksym Kuzminov was shot," the publication writes.
In a comment to RBC-Ukraine journalists, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine stated that, according to the report from the Ukrainian Consulate General in Barcelona, Hrushevskyi’s death was caused by drowning.
“Consular officials have provided assistance in processing the necessary documents for repatriating the body to Ukraine,” the ministry added.
