French deftech company Alta Ares will allocate one-fifth of the €50 million in investments raised in June to expanding its business in Ukraine — approximately €10 million.

The company’s co-founder and CEO Adrien Kanter said this in an interview with Defender Media.

The investment will be directed toward expanding the Ukrainian engineering team and scaling up the production of interceptor drones. In Ukraine, Alta Ares operates a development office and one of its manufacturing facilities, where it produces unmanned systems. The Ukrainian division currently employs around 20 engineers, and according to Kanter, the company plans to triple this number by the end of 2026.

Among Alta Ares’ Ukrainian partners, Canter highlighted Fire Point.

“Our Ukrainian teams are already working together on several projects, but they remain confidential,” he said.

In addition to Ukraine, Alta Ares has production facilities in France and one of the countries in the Middle East. According to the CEO, the company will soon open another factory in an EU country.
