Ukraine is gradually entering this year's heating season, with Kyiv starting the heating season for social institutions on October 14. Meanwhile, the injection of natural gas into the country's underground gas storage facilities (UGSF) continues.
As of October 15, natural gas reserves in Ukraine's UGSF surpassed 12.8 billion cubic meters.
At the beginning of last week (October 7), the volume of natural gas injected into Ukrainian storage reached its highest level of the year—32.8 million cubic meters. This increase is supported not only by high production levels but also by relatively strong gas supplies to Ukraine, averaging 11 million cubic meters per day. All natural gas procured by Naftogaz of Ukraine from Europe is being stored in "customs warehouses." Additionally, gas re-export from Ukrainian storage has stabilized at 1.1 million cubic meters per day, which is significantly lower than import levels.
Given the ongoing injection season and stable Naftogaz purchases, the government’s plan to reach 13.2 billion cubic meters in storage by November 1 remains realistic, with resource accumulation for winter proceeding as planned.
