Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will arrive in Kyiv next week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Il Fatto Quotidiano writes about it.
It is known that during the visit, scheduled for February 21, Meloni will announce the delivery of the SAMP-T missile defense system, which Italy is transferring jointly with France. Also, the package, apparently, will include other weapons, but it is already known that the Italians do not plan to transfer tanks to Ukraine because of their small number in the Italian army itself.
The publication notes that Meloni's visit to Kyiv should demonstrate that official Rome does not share the position of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Not long ago, he said he would not meet with Vladimir Zelensky, whom he assesses "very negatively." With this, Berlusconi caused a flurry of anger both in Italy itself and in other Western countries.
