In February, command and control vehicles M577 will be sent from Lithuania to Ukraine.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda also revealed that the country has approved a long-term military aid package for Ukraine totaling €200 million.

In January, Lithuania will once again send ammunition, generators, and detonation systems to Ukraine.

"We continue to support brave Ukrainians in their struggle by all means: military, economic, political. At the National Defense Council of Lithuania, we approved a long-term military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 200 million euros," said Gitanas Nauseda.

The head of state emphasized that Lithuania will train Ukrainian soldiers and strengthen cooperation in the defense industry.

Signed agreements between the Ukrainian and Lithuanian defense industries were referred to by Nauseda as another example of close military cooperation between the two states.

President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived for a visit to Vilnius. As part of his visit, Ukraine and Lithuania agreed on joint production of defense equipment, particularly anti-drone systems.

In 2022, Lithuania had already transferred command and control vehicles M577 to Ukraine.

In 2016, Lithuania purchased 168 German armored personnel carriers M577 from the arsenal of the German army, spending a total of 1.6 million euros on this. According to the agreement, the Lithuanian army received the command and control armored personnel carriers M577 in several batches over the next two years.
