In November 2024, the Russian army suffered its largest irreversible and sanitary losses in personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion, with 45,720 military personnel lost. This number represents the equivalent of more than three motorized infantry divisions of the Russian Ground Forces.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during one day in November, Ukrainian troops inflicted casualties on 2,030 enemy soldiers, marking the highest single-day loss for the enemy since February 24, 2022.
Additionally, during November, Ukrainian forces destroyed 307 enemy tanks, the highest number for this autumn (compared to 291 in September and 279 in October). With 31 tanks in a Russian tank battalion, this means that in November alone, the Kremlin's army lost nearly 10 tank battalions. The estimated cost of this lost equipment is approximately $450 million USD.
As a result of active combat operations, Ukrainian forces also destroyed 899 enemy armored fighting vehicles in November 2024. This is roughly equivalent to the number of AFVs in almost four motorized infantry divisions. The cost of this amount of equipment is estimated at no less than half a billion US dollars.
In November, Ukrainian troops also destroyed 884 units of enemy artillery. A Russian artillery division typically includes 18 self-propelled guns, meaning Ukrainian forces rendered 49 artillery divisions incapable of combat. The value of these artillery units is around $700 million USD.
The total estimated cost of the enemy’s losses in weapons and equipment in November 2024 exceeds $3 billion USD. This is higher than the losses in September and October, showing that the Kremlin continues to spend vast amounts of money to prolong the war.
