In the Kursk region, Russian forces continue their assault actions, but the Defense Forces are maintaining an active defense and inflicting maximum losses on the Russian army. Over the past day, the Rusian troops used up to 40 GABs (guided aerial bombs) to strike positions of the Defense Forces.

This was stated during a TV broadcast by Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for the operational-tactical group Siversk of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“The enemy’s assault actions have not ceased. The intensity of shelling remains high, and the enemy is concentrating both personnel and equipment here. The local transport infrastructure allows them to transport and reinforce their military units, which the Defense Forces are effectively targeting. They also carry out airstrikes from deep within their territory. We are recording about 40 KABs per day in the area controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region,” Mysnyk said.

He added that the Russian troops are using the same tactics as in Donetsk and southern Ukraine: destroying their own settlements, attacking local civilians and homes, and conducting "meat grinder" assaults.

“Our Defense Forces are employing active defense tactics. These combat actions are mobile, allowing us to use the full arsenal of weapons at our disposal. Taking into account the natural, particularly the terrain conditions here, we inflict maximum losses on the enemy,” said the spokesperson.

In response to the question of whether the Russian troops has launched a new wave of offensive, Mysnyk noted,

“This is another wave. They are intensifying or reducing assault actions from certain directions. Now they have amassed their forces and are attempting again. The enemy does this constantly. When we destroy their equipment and armored vehicles, they continue their assault with small infantry groups, and then our drones and FPV drones finish them off. But they do not stop their assault actions.”

Mysnyk added that the Defense Forces are controlling the situation and inflicting maximum damage on the Russian forces.

Regarding whether there are instructions from Russian military leadership to push the Defense Forces out of the Kursk region by a certain date, Mysnyk responded that this is a political matter:

“This is mostly a political question. We understand that the results of the US elections are influencing this, as Russia wants to achieve certain results within a given period. Our task, for the Defense Forces and our units, is to destroy the enemy as much as possible. Only through such actions can we influence the situation. We maintain the initiative here, and our experience and the strength of our forces allow us to do so.”
