As part of a working group in the Odessa region, employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine analyzed the tender procurement of one of the utilities.
The subject of the agreement is railway equipment worth almost UAH 22 million. After analyzing the tender documents, there is reason to believe that the company has no actual need to purchase such a large number of spare parts, as stated in the agreement. In addition, according to operative information, the utility company officials planned to use the old spare parts for repair and further document them as a supply under the tender.
According to the results of the measures taken, the officials of the utility company refused to buy spare parts that are not currently needed in the business and concluded an additional agreement by reducing the contract price to UAH 7.7 million.
The waste of the mentioned utility company in the amount of UAH 14.2 million is biased.
According to the results of processing analytical information in the budget sphere, BEB employees have already anticipated the waste of more than UAH 20 million in May.
