The court has sentenced two foreigners who were spying on Ukrainian military headquarters in the Odessa region. They were working for the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the SSU, the perpetrators were detained in April during a special operation in Odessa. Before their arrest, the FSB informants attempted to photograph the perimeter of a potential target building and transmit its geolocation to the Russians.
The Russian forces, upon receiving the coordinates, planned to strike the target. However, these plans were thwarted by the SSU officers.
The traitors turned out to be two citizens of a South Caucasus country who were living in Odessa. They were recruited by the FSB for intelligence and subversive activities.
The culprits aimed to create their own network of informants, planning to engage in recruitment under the guise of a public organization.
As a result, the foreigners working for the FSB were sentenced to eight years in prison.
