The Japanese government, due to the situation in Ukraine, has imposed a ban on the export to Russia of a range of goods that contribute to strengthening its industrial base.
This information is reported by the Ministry of Economy of Japan.
Additional measures to prohibit exports will take effect from April 17.
They will apply to the following goods:
• Mineral fuels, oils, and their distillates, bituminous substances, and mineral waxes;
• Inorganic chemical substances, precious metals and their inorganic or organic compounds (such as hydrogen chloride, aluminum hydroxide);
• Plastics and articles thereof (for example, nitrocellulose);
• Steel products and their parts (for example, pipe fittings used for transporting oil or gas);
• Tungsten powder and molybdenum, cobalt, zirconium, and rhenium and products thereof;
• Products made of non-precious metals;
• Boilers and machinery, their parts and accessories (for example, electric hand tools such as grinders, woodworking machines, corks, hard rubber, and hard plastic);
• Electrical equipment and its parts (for example, lithium-ion batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries);
• Yachts and other pleasure or sports vessels, kayaks, canoes, light boats, fireboats, crane vessels, and other floating docks or submerged drilling or production platforms;
• Optical equipment, photographic equipment, measuring equipment, control equipment, precision equipment, and their parts and accessories (for example, a microtome, a thermostat).
In addition, from May 10, the import of diamonds from Russia will be banned.
