Due to the urgent need for assistance to Ukraine, Norway will now support the creation of an air defense system in the country.

"Every morning, the news reports about Russian missiles and drones hitting civilian buildings, energy facilities, and killing numerous people. Ukraine was able to defend itself against this, but it is running out of fuel," said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
He noted that Norway will now allocate billions for Ukraine's air defense.
"Some of this will be used from the Nansen programme, but in the revised budget, we will also allocate enough funds for Norway to be involved in this initiative from the very beginning," the prime minister said.
The Nansen programme is a Norwegian support package for Ukraine, which includes military and civilian support totaling 75 billion Norwegian kroner over five years.
Støre asserts that significant funds will be spent, but does not specify the exact amount.
"We will return to this issue when we present the revised budget. It is expensive, but preserving peace and freedom costs money. Those who pay the highest price are Ukraine and Ukrainians," the politician emphasized.
