Dutch holding company Veon, the owner of Ukraine's largest mobile operator, "Kyivstar," has announced the closure of a deal to sell its Russian assets to a management team led by Alexander Torbakhov, general director of VimpelCom.

In Russia, Veon owned the telecommunications operator known under the Beeline brand. The sale of its Russian assets was made to the management team of VimpelCom and does not include any provisions for a buyback. This deal signifies Veon's complete exit from the Russian market.

According to the CEO of the company, Kaan Terzioglu, the closure of the deal allows them to fully focus on further development while meeting the growing demand in markets such as Pakistan, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
