During the United24 forum, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, described the results of using strike unmanned maritime platforms and talked about the prospects for their development.
The head of Ukrainian intelligence expressed gratitude to all participants of the United24 charitable initiative for their assistance and support in the development of advanced types of weaponry.
"This technology works - that's the most important thing. It yields results. People achieve results when they work with this technology. One-third of the destroyed combat potential of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is a very decent indicator. And all this is thanks to the work of each of you - without you, this wouldn't have been possible. I want to thank you once again for this," said Budanov.
According to him, robotic maritime platforms are currently being improved, including the installation of systems for hitting small surface and aerial targets, as well as striking coastlines.
"The systems are being modernized. Technologies are being mastered. New technologies are emerging. So, over time, we will probably see the complete dominance of unmanned maritime vessels over conventional warships. At least in closed or semi-closed waters like the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, and so on. This is definitely the path of development," noted Kyrylo Budanov.
Recall that operators of the Special Forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, "Group 13," using the Magura V5 strike maritime drones, destroyed the reconnaissance ship "Ivan Khurs," the landing ships "Akula" and "Serna," the missile ship "Ivanovets," the large landing ship "Tsezar Kunikov," and the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Sergey Kotov."
