Latvia plans to provide Ukraine with drones of its own production, as well as radar systems for defense.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia Anatoliy Kutsyvol made this statement in an interview with Ukrinform.
"We never forget that Latvia has taken on the coordination of drone coalition efforts for Ukraine. This also involves military-technical cooperation between Ukrainian and Latvian businesses. I believe that over time we will see more media reports about Latvia supplying drones and radar defense systems manufactured in Latvia to Ukraine," he said.
According to the ambassador, cooperation is also developing within the coalition for 155mm artillery shells.
"There are other areas of cooperation, but they cannot be named from a security perspective at the moment," he added.
Kutsyvol also expressed Ukraine's gratitude to Latvia for accepting wounded soldiers.
"The minimum program is to ensure that the same number of soldiers receive treatment as before. However, there is an agreement, including with the Minister of Health, that we are looking for opportunities to increase this number. We are currently discussing whether it would be possible to accept between 150 and 200 Ukrainian soldiers per year," he added.
In conclusion, the ambassador emphasized that
"Latvia fully supports Ukraine in all its endeavors."
