Lithuania, Sweden, and Canada have decided to establish the 'Common Interests Group for Ukraine.' It will be involved in supporting the restoration of Ukraine's transportation industry.
Deputy Minister for Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Sergiy Derkach, reported this on Facebook. According to Derkach, the Minister of Transport of Lithuania, Marius Skuodis, the Minister of Infrastructure of Sweden, Andreas Carlsson, and the Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum, Young Tae Kim, visited Kyiv.
"The reason is the establishment of the 'Common Interests Group for Ukraine' (CIG4U). This is an initiative of three countries: Lithuania, Sweden, and Canada within the framework of the International Transport Forum. The group's work aims to support the restoration of the transportation industry and the development of logistic routes," the deputy minister clarified.
The main directions of the group's work will include:
- Coordination of support for material needs related to transportation.
- Analytical support for the restoration of transportation connections.
The official explained that the first projects will focus on the development of road and rail freight transport in Ukraine.
