Over the past day, Russians attempted to storm Makiivka in the Luhansk region several times but were stopped by the Defense Forces.
This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Artem Lysogor.
"Several times, Russians attempted to storm Makiivka but were halted. The occupiers used aviation in the Serebryanske Forest," the statement said.
Artem Lysogor added that the aggressors did not reduce the number of shelling incidents in the last day of 2023, firing about 540 shells in this section of the front. Firefights occurred near Nevske and Bilohorivka.
"While being actively defensive, Ukrainian military personnel seek to inflict maximum damage to the enemy's equipment and personnel," added the head of the Regional Military Administration.
