The team Feel Touch from Novoyavorivsk Vocational School achieved bronze at the European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival, Gen E, in Italy, as reported by Lviv Regional State Administration.
Competing against 40 projects from across Europe, the team developed an innovative device that assists people with disabilities in controlling gadgets. This device is designed for individuals with hand injuries, paralysis, or upper limb amputations, allowing them to use phones, TVs, tablets, and laptops without needing a solid surface underneath. Control is enabled through spatial movement. This development marks a significant breakthrough in assistive technology.
The students—Roman Khomyk (CEO), Oleksandr Tarasiuk (CFO), Liubov Sloboda (Production Director), Khrystyna Paliuk (Marketing Director), and Veronika Khimyak (Sales Director)—were participants of the "Company" programme by Junior Achievement Ukraine and later engaged in the "Business Skills for Economic Growth" project by JA Ukraine and #Skills4Recovery. They emerged victorious in the National Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, earning them the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival Gen E in Italy.
Andrii Turak, Development Director of JA Ukraine, emphasized, 'The third place for the Ukrainian team is an incredible achievement. It has never been seen before that a country, which has only been part of the Junior Achievement network for the second year, secures a prize place.'"
In collaboration with the Lviv Regional State Administration's Department of Education and Science and vocational-technical education institutions in Lviv and other regions, the public organization Junior Achievement creates excellent opportunities for the Ukrainian youth to launch their own companies.
