NATO allies are making efforts to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression now and to be able to deter such aggression in the future, because without a safe and stable Ukraine there can be no long-term security.
This was stated today in Vilnius during the opening of the plenary session of the V9 and Northern countries summit by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to a correspondent from Ukrinform.
“There can be no security without strong defense, and there will be no lasting security without a stable Ukraine. We continue to support efforts to end this brutal war, help Ukraine defend itself today, and deter aggression in the future. This will also be on the table this week, next Wednesday, when we meet within the framework of the Defense Contact Group, chaired by Germany and the United Kingdom,” said Mark Rutte.
