Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk secured her first victory of the new tennis season. At the WTA tournament in Brisbane, the 21-year-old defeated Romanian Ana Bogdan.
Kostyuk is one of five Ukrainian tennis players starting the new season in the main draw of WTA tournaments. In addition to her, Angelina Kalinina will also be playing in Brisbane, starting her participation in the competition from the second round.
Instead, Kostyuk was supposed to play her first match on Sunday, December 31. Her opponent was the Romanian Ana Bogdan, whom she faced for the first time in her career.
