The mining and metallurgical group "Metinvest" has commenced the production and supply of steel bunker headquarters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, providing protection against enemy shelling.

According to the company's press release on Friday, "Metinvest" has established the production of steel underground command posts, which protect personnel from the consequences of shelling and allow the command of the Armed Forces to operate in safe and comfortable conditions on the front lines. The first steel headquarters, designed for 30 military personnel, have already been handed over to the Ground Forces of Ukraine on a complimentary basis and installed on one of the most active fronts.

In this regard, it is explained that the command post helps save the lives of military personnel since it can be rapidly deployed and retracted on the front lines. With proper installation, it provides protection from artillery shelling of any caliber. The steel headquarters consist of five or six (depending on the configuration) individual mobile bunkers, the production of which "Metinvest" began back in October 2022. These bunkers are interconnected underground shelters that serve various functions, ranging from living quarters and sanitary zones to the working command staff. Thus, a complete underground complex of buildings is formed.

Made of corrugated steel, the bunkers are equipped with all the necessary equipment at the level of a good hotel: sleeping and working areas, showers and boilers, heating, lighting, and communication systems, places for storing weapons and personal belongings, and electronic equipment. This allows the underground headquarters to be used not only as a shelter and resting place but also as a working area, ensuring effective command operations on the front lines.

Olexander Myronenko, the Chief Operating Officer of "Metinvest," noted that the war is long-lasting, and combat actions have become a constant companion for every Ukrainian, especially those defending the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces. Therefore, the development of improved bunkers, entire underground complexes, is the contribution of "Metinvest" and Rinat Akhmetov's "Steel Front" to improving the living conditions of soldiers on the front lines.

"People are the main focus. If we can not only create a safe space from shelling but also make it as comfortable as possible, we do it. I hope that there will be more such command posts on the front lines, and these 'underground towns' will become a reliable support for the command of military units. "Metinvest" also plans to develop new configurations of underground steel complexes for other needs of the Armed Forces. Therefore, we will not stop until Ukraine prevails," commented Myronenko on the delivery of the first command post to the Armed Forces.

The new command posts are based on the traditional bunker model - "hideouts," over 330 units of which "Metinvest" has already transferred to various brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2022. The design of the standard steel bunker has been refined for use as part of a permanent headquarters, with dimensions increased to 6 meters in length and 2.3 meters in height. Each "hideout" is designed for six people and equipped with resting areas, storage for personal belongings, and an integrated heating system. The production of one such structure by "Metinvest" enterprises takes approximately 400 hours.

"The advantage of our army over the enemy: we fight with quality, with our minds. At the same time, we can make thoughtful operational decisions quickly because the lives of our soldiers and the success of military operations are at stake. That's why, even in the midst of war, we strive to provide and create comfortable conditions for the work and rest of our military personnel. Command posts based on modular shelters meet the army's requirements and allow us to set up fortified headquarters on the front lines that will fulfill their main task under any circumstances - commanding the battle and delivering devastating blows to the enemy," noted Brigadier General Volodymyr Horbatyuk of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
