Moldova’s Ministry of Defence said on September 30 that a Russian drone launched in an attack on Ukraine exploded on Moldovan territory.

According to police, at around 05:40 a report was received about a drone flying at low altitude over the municipality of Bender.
At 05:43, the drone crashed in an open area outside the village of Gîrbovaț in the Anenii Noi district and exploded. The village is located about 20 km from the border with Ukraine’s Odesa region.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. The area has been cordoned off, and specialised police units are working at the scene. Experts are examining the object and investigating the circumstances of the incident.
“The Air Operations Service continues to monitor the airspace together with the relevant authorities and partners,” the Defence Ministry said.
