More than 30,000 Hasidim have already arrived in Uman, Cherkasy region, to celebrate the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

This was reported by the United Jewish Community of Ukraine on Telegram.

"Over 30,000 pilgrims have arrived in Uman," the statement reads.

However, more than 14,000 pilgrims were unable to reach Uman due to yesterday's heavy shelling of Israel by Iran, the closure of airspace, and the cancellation of flights.

A 24/7 hotline is available for Hasidic pilgrims in Uman.

This support is provided by the Uman Historical and Cultural Center Charitable Foundation. Foreign visitors can report any issues or difficulties encountered during their pilgrimage, such as lost documents or border crossing problems.

The hotline operates in three languages: Ukrainian, English, and Hebrew.

Public safety and order in Uman are being monitored by police officers, servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES), medical personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and other services.

Ukrainian police are on duty alongside 16 Israeli colleagues.

At three entry points to the pilgrimage area, checkpoints are equipped with introscopes, scanners, and special metal detector frames.

A translator is present at each checkpoint.

Police officers are checking individuals, their belongings, and vehicles arriving in Uman, while maintaining a polite demeanor.

Hasidic pilgrims are heading to Uman as the celebration of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah 5785) begins this evening, October 2, and will continue until the evening of October 4.

The police will maintain order until the end of Shabbat, which will follow immediately after Rosh Hashanah.
