In 2024, the Ukrainian Navy ensured the passage of 9,061 civilian vessels through the corridor in the Black Sea.
This was reported by the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, on Facebook.
He clarified that last year, 4,651 vessels arrived in Ukraine, while 4,410 departed for other ports.
"This allowed Ukraine to export more than 74.4 million tons of cargo, including agricultural products, which is critically important for supporting our economy and global food security. Nearly 80% of cargo transportation is carried out by sea," Neizhpapa emphasized.
He noted that the safety of maritime navigation was ensured thanks to the continuous work of naval vessels and divers of the Navy. Specifically, a large number of "drifting" mines were destroyed, and no incidents of detonations occurred in the ports.
Also, the Navy provided constant escort for cargo ships.
