JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia, part of the Naftogaz Group, has commissioned a new high-productivity well with a daily output of 274,000 cubic meters of gas. Notably, the planned wellhead is located directly beneath a populated area.
"The launch of this new well has increased daily gas production at the field by 17%. Another well is scheduled to be commissioned in August this year."
Naftogaz Group's head, Oleksiy Chernyshov, thanked the entire Ukrgazvydobuvannia team for their effective work.
The idea for the well was proposed by UkrNDIGaz developer Andriy Tyro, who assessed the field's extraction potential and identified a remote site for drilling. The development team conducted detailed geological and technical justifications and recommended the well for drilling.
"Drilling the well beneath the populated area was achieved thanks to modern drilling equipment, advanced technologies, and the expertise of Ukrburgaz specialists, who completed the complex task and drilled the well to a depth exceeding 1,300 meters in four months. Ukrgazpromgeofizika specialists performed complex logging operations under challenging conditions and determined the depth of the gas-bearing layers," said acting head of Ukrgazvydobuvannia, Serhiy Lahno.
In the first half of 2024, Ukrgazvydobuvannia drilled 50 wells, with 41 of them now in operation.
