NIBULON’s elevator infrastructure has undergone a profound transformation, moving from a traditional storage model to a service-based system for managing grain flows.
Between 2022 and 2025, the company invested $30.1 million in modernizing its elevator operations. These investments enabled the construction of a transshipment terminal on the Danube — the Bessarabian branch — as well as the modernization of infrastructure and automation of production processes, from receiving and storage to logistics and settlements.
The Bessarabian branch demonstrates how NIBULON’s infrastructure is taking on a new role. In 2024, it began loading seagoing vessels, and in 2025 it expanded its service model to include import flows: during the 2025/26 marketing year, 58,920 tonnes of mineral fertilizers were imported through the facility.
Quality remains a key focus. The automation of quantity and quality accounting systems, together with the modernization of laboratories, has strengthened NIBULON’s position as one of the market’s most reliable players in terms of objective quality assessment of grain and oilseed crops.
Today, NIBULON’s elevator network includes 21 elevators, two terminals, and a total simultaneous storage capacity of 1.6 million tonnes.
One of the key results of the transformation has been a 27% reduction in the average cost of processing one tonne across the company’s network.
This achievement was reached despite lower product volumes within the system and a high level of fixed costs, including taxes and infrastructure maintenance expenses.
For NIBULON, elevators are more than just storage infrastructure. They serve as service entry points for agricultural producers, operating under unified standards, ensuring transparency in grain flows, and meeting European integration requirements for supply chain traceability.
The reduction in operating costs, the 2.03 million tonnes of grain and oilseeds brought into the system during the 2025/26 marketing year, and cooperation with 4,000 agricultural producers who entrust their harvests to NIBULON are measurable results of this transformation and confirmation that the company remains on its strategic path.
