Norway is providing Ukraine with an additional 465 million Norwegian kroner (around USD 45.8 million) in humanitarian aid. This allocation comes on top of 120 million Norwegian kroner (USD 11.8 million) already designated for food security.

This was reported in a statement by the Norwegian government.

“Norway’s humanitarian support to Ukraine is saving lives and alleviating suffering. It is helping the Ukrainian people to retain their resilience. This is a key priority for Norway,” said Minister of International Development Osmund Aukrust at the 4th International Summit on Food Security in Kyiv.

These additional allocations will increase Norway’s support for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and for refugees in neighboring countries to 3 billion Norwegian kroner in 2025.

The funding will be provided through UN partners, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as Norwegian humanitarian organizations. The government emphasizes that Norway prioritizes protection and humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable people on the frontlines, support for evacuations, and aid for Ukrainians who have become internally displaced. Norwegian funding is also used to assist people who have lost their homes due to Russian attacks.

“The scale of humanitarian needs in Ukraine is vast. The cooperation we are seeing between Norwegian humanitarian organisations and local organisations to help Ukraine’s civilian population is invaluable. Norway attaches special importance to projects aimed at protecting and improving the situation for children. The collaborative projects also provide food for civilians in need, direct cash transfers and shelter, and promote mine clearance activities,” Aukrust said.
