Russian forces attacked Odessa and the surrounding region with kamikaze drones on the night of December 27, resulting in casualties and injuries. This information was reported by Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

The combat operation to eliminate 'Shahed' drones lasted for 7 hours. The UAVs flew in two waves with a 15-minute interval. Defense forces destroyed 17 drones in their area of responsibility, including 12 in the Odessa region, 3 in the Mykolaiv region, and 2 in the Vinnytsia region.

In the Odessa region, there was a hit on the facilities of an agricultural research institution, and information about the casualties is being clarified.

Military sources state that the Russians focused their attacks on Odessa, where all enemy targets were successfully neutralized. Debris from the 'Shahed' drones fell onto an uninhabited newly built area. Additionally, a downed drone in the air fell onto summer cottages in the suburbs of Odessa, causing a fire that has been extinguished.

Defense forces in the south reported that, as a result of the attack on Odessa and the region, one person died, and three others were injured, including a 17-year-old. Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, specified that a 35-year-old man died, and two individuals, a 37-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, sustained injuries. The injured individuals, with multiple wounds of medium severity, were hospitalized.
