The Czech Republic will assist in rebuilding the Dnipropetrovsk region, with a focus on three key sectors: energy generation, water supply, and healthcare.

This was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, and the Czech Republic's Government Commissioner for Ukraine's Recovery, Tomáš Kopečný.

"I am grateful for all the help that Ukraine has already received from the Czech Republic. However, to be honest, our country is being destroyed daily, so we must work on restoration, especially of critical infrastructure. At the Ministry, we are laying the foundation for the comprehensive development of communities and territories. We will create policies and programs for further restoration that take into account regional specifics and the post-war development of the entire country. I believe we can already discuss further areas of cooperation," said Oleksii Kuleba.

The Czech Republic expressed its readiness to take responsibility for the restoration of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The parties discussed establishing a permanent working group to manage reconstruction projects and the opening of a Czech Republic consulate in Dnipro.

"We are very happy to focus on a new project that we agree on with you and to put in all the effort where others are unwilling to act. We support Ukraine and its people because it also contributes to our own security," emphasized Tomáš Kopečný.

Tomáš Kopečný shared that in the Kharkiv region, the Czech Republic is already implementing several projects. For example, the region has received 7 cogeneration stations for local communities, a 20 MW turbine for the city, and expensive equipment for the municipal company "Kharkiv Heat Networks."

As part of support for Dnipropetrovsk in the period 2023-2024, the Czech Republic has provided multifunctional medical beds and diesel generators for Kryvyi Rih, and gas heaters, medical equipment, and water purification stations for the cities of Marhanets and Nikopol.

It is worth noting that, in addition to humanitarian aid, the Czech Republic is also providing significant military support to Ukraine.
