Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, stated that Ukraine will not fulfill all seven European Commission criteria by October, but negotiations for accession will still commence.

She made this statement during the conference "What Does Ukraine's Path to the EU Look Like" in Kyiv.

According to the Vice Prime Minister, these are fundamental reforms and these changes will be implemented over the years.

"But in October, we will definitely ensure the fulfillment of all institutional steps," she added.

Stefanishyna noted that during the implementation of certain reforms, particularly anti-corruption measures, "new tasks arise, for example - the full implementation of the anti-corruption program."

"Our task is to ensure that these new tasks do not become conditions (for starting negotiations)," she said.

Stefanishyna is confident that Ukraine will meet the condition for the restoration of public electronic declarations.

The Vice Prime Minister pointed out that the political decision to start negotiations for Ukraine's membership in the EU will be made. She considers December to be the "last opportunity to make a political decision to start negotiations."

At the end of June, the European Commission presented an oral assessment of Ukraine's progress on the path to the EU. The European Commission believes that Ukraine has fully met two out of seven conditions necessary to start accession negotiations, and progress has been achieved on the rest of the conditions
