Open-source intelligence (OSInt) researcher M.T. Anderson, using satellite imagery, determined that the Russians were able to transfer two additional small missile ships of the "Karakurt" type to the Black Sea.

Apparently, they were constructed at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard on the Volga, then transported through the Volga-Don Canal and the Don River. Thus, three ships of this type - Cyclone, Amur, and Cloud - are now operational in the Black Sea.

Another one, Ascolt, was significantly damaged at the shipyard in Kerch by SCALP-EG cruise missiles launched by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Despite their small size, Karakurt-class ships can carry up to eight "Kalibr" cruise missiles. Another ship of this project, Typhoon, is currently under construction at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard and is expected to be completed in a year. However, the transfer of ships of this type is the only way the occupiers can replenish their Black Sea fleet with anything larger than a boat.
