The U.S. Department of Defense will supply Ukraine with additional defensive weapons to protect against Russian strikes, following an order from Donald Trump.

This was stated in an official declaration on U.S. military assistance to Ukraine by Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell.

"At President Trump's direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops," the statement reads.

It also emphasizes that the U.S. President's system for assessing global military deliveries "remains in force and is a core component of our ‘America First’ defense priorities."
