Russian President Vladimir Putin has a "very peculiar relationship" with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Russian publicist Andrei Piontkovsky spoke about them on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“This story with Kadyrov is very complicated. This is the fattest rat who is already starting to think about the direction of the “Russian warship†… Kadyrov pretends that Chechnya is part of Russia, for this the Russian Federation pays him a huge tribute. Very peculiar relations. And he knows that this is a relationship with Putin personally," he said.
"Putin was practically defeated in the war with Chechnya, he stopped at the fact that he transferred power completely to Kadyrov and pays him," Piontkovsky added. "I'm telling you this for sure… Kadyrov understands perfectly well that the security forces will destroy him if Putin leaves."
