Poland is preparing the 46th aid package for Ukraine, which will amount to more than 200 million euros, announced Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Wojciech Kosiniak-Kamysz, on Tuesday, reports PAP.
He emphasized that Poland is a leader in providing assistance and stated,
"We will continue to help"
Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz made these remarks during the opening of a conference in the Senate to mark the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. He said that with the Russian invasion, "peaceful life was shattered to pieces, it just crumbled." He thanked everyone who contributed to helping Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Poland, as a country, "has been a leader in providing help" when it comes to military support.
"I remember those meetings of the National Security Council, when I was in opposition, but there was a unity of actions between the opposition and the government. No one doubted that we needed to send equipment. While some were thinking about what to send and looking at their stocks, Poland sent tanks, heavy equipment, and ammunition. We delivered everything that was possible," he said.
The Minister of National Defense noted that "in relation to our GDP and our capabilities, today, humanitarian and military aid are at the top among all the countries that have supported Ukraine."
"Currently, we are preparing the 46th aid package for Ukraine, which will cost over 200 million euros. This is sometimes more than some European countries have donated in total during the entire course of the war. This is the 46th contribution, and we will continue to help, I want to emphasize that. We will train Ukrainian soldiers, and we have completed this mission. Out of the 80-90 thousand soldiers trained by European Union countries, Poland has trained about a third – 28 thousand. We are ready to continue training on our territory. We are leaders in this field," the Minister of National Defense stressed.
