The Polish government has added border checkpoints to the list of critical infrastructure in order to limit potential attempts to block the Polish-Ukrainian border in the future.

This was stated by Paweł Kowal, the head of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, as reported by Rzeczpospolita.

"The government has implemented regulations concerning critical infrastructure, which has slightly reduced the inconveniences caused by protests at the border," Kowal noted.

He emphasized that "the list of what is considered critical infrastructure has been expanded."

Kowal pointed out that farmers in Poland and throughout the EU will always look for ways to organize protests that will have the greatest impact on the authorities. On the other hand, any government will try to limit these protests within the law.
