President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak.

The head of state thanked the head of the Polish Ministry of Defence for comprehensive support from Poland in countering Russian aggression and the solidarity of the Polish people with Ukrainians.

Zelenskyy highly appreciated the true strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as effective interaction at all levels.

The President noted Poland's leadership in matters of security assistance to Ukraine and Warsaw's important role in starting a tank coalition thanks to the decision to transfer a company of Leopard 2 armored vehicles to Ukraine.

"Thank you for the concrete and significant steps that Poland is taking to strengthen our Armed Forces," he said.

The Head of State expressed hope that the agreements reached regarding the supply of western armored vehicles to Ukraine will soon yield the first results. "The creation of the tank coalition is not only about strengthening the Armed Forces, but also about hastening the liberation of Ukrainian territories. I am grateful for Poland's strong support in this matter," Zelenskyy said.

The President briefed BÅ‚aszczak on the situation at the front and the needs of the Ukrainian defenders to stop the offensive of the aggressor. Further joint steps to strengthen the defense capability of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were discussed, in particular in the context of preparations for the next meeting of allies at Ramstein Air Base.

Zelenskyy presented the Minister of National Defence of Poland with the Order of Merit, first grade. BÅ‚aszczak received the award for significant personal merits in strengthening interstate cooperation, support of state sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
