Russian attacks across several Ukrainian regions killed at least two people and injured 47 others over the past day, with the heaviest casualties reported in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In Sumy region, one person was killed and 27 injured as Russian forces carried out 45 strikes on 21 settlements in 14 communities between the mornings of October 4 and 5.
A 52-year-old man was killed in a drone attack on the Sumy community. Another man was injured in drone strikes, while guided aerial bombs left 21 people injured, including a one-year-old child. Russian attacks also caused casualties in the Svesa, Velyka Pysarivka, Shostka and Seredyna-Buda communities. Russian forces used artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, FPV drones, other UAVs and guided aerial bombs across the region. Residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, vehicles and businesses were damaged or destroyed.

In Kharkiv region, one person was killed and 12 others were affected by attacks on Kharkiv and ten other settlements. Russian forces used three missiles, a multiple-launch rocket system and 154 drones.
A 42-year-old man was killed in Kharkiv, while five people were wounded and another man suffered an acute stress reaction. An educational institution, five apartment buildings, administrative and commercial premises, a café and six vehicles were damaged in the city.
Further casualties were reported in Zolochiv, Izium and Borova. Among the damaged property elsewhere in the region were private homes, a shop, petrol station, ambulance, greenhouses and vehicles.

Six people were injured in Kherson region, where Russian forces attacked 20 settlements using drones, aircraft and artillery. Critical and social infrastructure and residential areas were targeted, with an apartment building and seven private homes damaged. A mobile communications tower, gas pipeline, agricultural enterprise and vehicles were also hit.
In Mykolaiv, a 58-year-old man was injured in an attack involving Banderol loitering munitions. He received medical assistance at the scene and will continue treatment as an outpatient. Warehouses and vehicles were damaged.
Russian forces also used Shahed drones against Mykolaiv region and FPV drones against the Halytsynove and Kutsurub communities, with no additional casualties reported.
One person was wounded in Kramatorsk in Donetsk region during Russian attacks on October 4.
In Kyiv region, the Fastiv and Brovary districts came under attack. Three private homes, two outbuildings, a greenhouse and a car were damaged in Fastiv district, while a vehicle, garage and fence were damaged in Brovary district. No casualties were reported.
