Rail infrastructure used by Russia’s military-industrial complex and armed forces was attacked in Novocherkassk, Rostov region, according to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

“This logistics hub connects strategic routes: Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. It is through this hub that military equipment, ammunition, fuel resources, and personnel are transferred to the Ukrainian border,” he explained on Telegram on Wednesday.

According to Kovalenko, the city also hosts logistics units of Russia’s 1061st Material Support Center of the Southern Military District, responsible for distributing weapons, fuel, and ammunition.

“Hubs like Novocherkassk are arteries that feed Russia’s war machine. Without them, front-line supply chains break down,” he emphasized.

Falling drone debris caused fires in different parts of the city, but “all fires were promptly extinguished.” Four vehicles were damaged by shrapnel. According to Baza, local residents helped extinguish the fires themselves.
